My mission is to help you cultivate the best relationships you can have with your partner and with yourself. I will create a space where you feel seen, heard, validated, safe, and encouraged in your pursuit of relational and sexual change.
I believe we are capable of turning toward each other in moments of celebration and in moments of pain. However, many couples experience an impulse to turn away from each other when they are hurting. How can the source of pain be the very place we find relief? It is my mission to help you find that place of relief and connection. I will help you see how the un-solvable can become solvable; how it is possible to get what you need in this relationship. You deserve the opportunity to heal and explore connection and intimacy in new and profound ways… and I know how to help you get there.
Growing up, I realized I was different. I did not see myself in my family, my peers, or society at large. As I formed relationships with people outside of my family, I realized it was possible to create the connections I desperately needed for myself. I experienced true healing as I allowed myself to be seen and opened myself to truly understanding and accepting others. My therapy practice draws on this transformative experience of love and acceptance. My goal is to help you facilitate the feeling of being known and accepted in your relationships.
I gravitate towards therapeutic models that acknowledge mind and body (i.e. Mindfulness-based practices), intergenerational patterns (i.e. Intergenerational Family Therapy), and the need for safe and strong emotional connections (i.e. Emotion Focused Couples Therapy).
I became interested in sex therapy as I witnessed the negative affect media and society have on our relationships. I see the problems created when we’re surrounded by sexual messages (especially from companies trying to sell us something) but are not taught how to talk about our own sexuality. I find it so rewarding to help clients debunk the sexual myths in their relationships so that they are able to heal and grow together.
When I am not in the office you will find me spending time with friends and loved ones, hiking, dancing, nose deep in a new DIY project, or most importantly, hanging out with my dog Einstein.
